Craig played goal keeper for Coach Hampton

Craig Meyer was born and raised in Chickasha, Ok.   Craig's interest in soccer began in the 3rd grade.  He played several years and later picked it back up in the 9th grade, playing throughout high school.  His favorite position was goal-keeper which he played throughout his career.

Craig graduated from high school in 1998.  He attended OSU in OKC his freshman and sophomore years.  He completed his bachelor degree in aviation at OSU in Stillwater.  He graduated from OSU in December of 2002.  He worked as a flight instructor at OSU for about two years.

Craig married Deserae Wenzel, June 28, 2003.  After she graduated from OSU in spring 2005, they moved to McKinney, Texas.  He continued his love of flying there as a flight instructor, and later went to work for a flight service.

Craig and Deserae were blessed with a baby girl, Isabella "Izzie", June 2, 2006.

Jan. 4, 2007, Craig was killed in a plane crash in Batesville, Arkansas.  Deserae and Izzie moved back to Chickasha to be with family.

Craig loved his Lord,  family and community.  He enjoyed teaching and playing soccer with his nephew Alex.  He had a passion for the Special Olympics and began volunteering with his dad at the age of 9.  The highway patrol was a very important part of his life.  He spent every summer helping his dad with the Cadet Lawman Academy, including attending as a Cadet his junior year.

As a result of his many years of playing soccer and having mentors such as Coach Jimmy Hampton, he developed many attributes which he demonstrated both on and off the field.  Craig gave 110% in soccer and everything he did.
